The day started off with Joe and myself meeting at the Coffee Cup in Monument. After grabbing a quick breakfast and coming up with a lesson plan that would be able to accommodate the 30+ goalies we had coming out, it was off to the Colorado Sports Center to meet with the other coaches that volunteered to help us out for the day.

Based on the numbers of the goalies in attendance, we decided to split the goalies into two groups based on their age. Joe took half the group and along with the other coaches, we split those kids up into 6 stations. Each station targeted a different skill set, which were stick saves, recoveries, sliding, telescoping, behind the net play and of course skating.

I took the other group and utilizing one zone of the ice we ran the goalies through a variety of skating drills which focussed on proper stance, edge work, balance and body control.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and spent part of their morning with us. We hope that everyone enjoyed the morning as much as we did. Here are some of the best photos from the day.
